University of Johannesburg, Department of Educational Psychology

At the University of Johannesburg (UJ) vignette research is being conducted broadly in the Faculty of Education, and specifically in the Department of Educational Psychology. Henk Mostert's research promotes a phenomenological vignette research design, with a focus on homophobic victimisation in the South African context. He is a Lecturer and Educational Psychologist in the Department of Educational Psychology, Faculty of Education at UJ. He is involved in lecturing undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications, especially with the professional training of Student Educational Psychologists. He is also involved in various projects and community work at the University of Johannesburg. Furthermore, Henk is in part-time private practice as an Educational Psychologist and a vigorous vignette writer.

He is currently in the process of writing his PhD thesis in Educational Psychology in the Department of Educational Psychology, Faculty of Education, at the University of Pretoria - using a vignette research methodology to explore the lived experiences of homophobic victimisation of teachers in independent secondary schools.  He has contributed vignettes within the Teach4Reach project on teachers and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
