Teaching the Global Goals: Leveraging teacher educators’ professionalism for sustainable development (Teach4Reach 2.0)
The research project examines the current state of professionalism of teacher educators in the Global North and Global South in the context of the 2030 Agenda. The objectives of the project are to support scientific findings related to the professionalism of teacher educators, as well as to sensitize teacher educators in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and to strengthen international cooperation networks.
The Africa-Uninet funded project (OeAD) will take place over a period of two years (October 2022- September 2025). It is a follow-up project to Teach4Reach 1.0, which identified the relevance of further research and support related to teacher educator professionalism and the SDGs. The project team consists of researchers from the University of Pretoria (Irma Eloff and Kgadi Mathabathe), the University Innsbruck (Ann-Kathrin Dittrich) and the University of Vienna (Evi Agostini). The focus of the project is on all 17 SDGs. The focus is on the knowledge, attitudes and behavior of teacher educators in relation to the SDGs.
