EDUCULT is an independent, non-profit institute based in Vienna’s Museumsquartier that bridges the gap between research and practice. EDUCULT was founded in 2003 as a non-profit association under Austrian law. Since then, it has been developing well-founded decision-making frameworks, promoting participation and creating spaces for reflection. EDUCULT operates at the intersections of research, culture, education and politics – in an interdisciplinary, collaborative and process-oriented manner. 

Veronika Ehm has been working at EDUCULT since 2017. In her academic support and evaluation of educational and cultural projects, she uses phenomenological vignettes to make children’s experiential processes visible and describable. The focus is on specific moments of aesthetic experience in order to articulate responses to artistic impulses, identify atmospheres and turn our attention to the sensual moments of art education. Vignettes make it possible to make children’s nuanced and often difficult-to-verbalise experiences in art and educational settings comprehensible. Joint validation with project partners opens up discussions. This gives rise to intersubjectively comprehensible perspectives that contribute to the further development of art education and cultural education.
